"No veteran should wonder where they have to sleep at night.” That is what Bringing Veterans Home (BVH) is all about. It’s New Jersey’s initiative to house every veteran experiencing homelessness — both former servicemembers and National Guard members — by July 2026.
Shawnta Wright, Director of Community Hope, told us their priority is “housing first.” But, as Jaclynn Trakalo, Project Director for the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs notes, much of the work traditionally done to house veterans in New Jersey has been siloed. “The BVH project really broke down those technology barriers by including Civic Roundtable because Civic Roundtable is a really solid way to make sure people are communicating all in one space.”
